Composite fencing
A low maintenance fence that will not rot in Crawley's damp clay.
Composite boards mix wood fibre and recycled plastic, slotted into aluminium posts. Because there is no timber touching the ground, there is nothing to rot, which is a real advantage where clay stays wet for much of the winter.
Typical Crawley prices
Around £220 to £365 per panel width, or roughly £120 to £200 a metre. It costs more upfront but needs almost no upkeep.
Good to know
- No painting or treatment, just an occasional wash
- Aluminium posts still need solid concrete footings in clay
- Colours can fade slightly in the first year
