Fence panels
Quick to fit and good value for the many Crawley gardens with standard plots.
Ready made panels, usually 1.83m wide, slide between concrete posts or are fixed to timber ones. Crawley's new town estates were laid out with regular plots, so standard panels often fit with little cutting, which keeps the price down.
Typical Crawley prices
Around £120 to £185 per panel, or roughly £65 to £100 a metre, supplied and fitted. A fencer can often replace 10 to 15 panels in a day.
Choosing a panel
- Lap panels are the cheapest but the thinnest
- Featheredge or closeboard panels are thicker and last longer
- Tongue and groove gives a solid, smart finish with no gaps
Reusing old posts
Many Crawley gardens already have slotted concrete posts. If they are upright and sound, new panels can go straight in, which can save a fair amount. A fencer will check on the visit.
Common questions
How many panels do I need?
Measure the length in metres and divide by 1.83, or count the gaps between your existing posts.
Why do my panels keep blowing out?
Usually the posts have moved or the panels are too light. Heavier panels and firmly set posts help.
